Apple TV launches in India for Rs. 7999

Apple today has launched ‘Apple TV’ media streaming box in India. In December 2012, Apple made its iTunes store available in India. Apple TV enables users to play content directly from services like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu Plus and Vimeo. It doesn’t sport any storage of it own but has direct access to Apple iTunes store where you can purchase or rent movies, buy musics.

Users can also view content stored on their iOS device using Airplay, a media streaming feature. Apple TV also supports Airplay mirroring, which means they can duplicate your iOS device’s screen on the TV for internet surfing or gaming on a big screen. On the back, this device has HDMI, optical audio, power, microUSB and Ethernet ports. The streaming box can be controlled remotely using iPhone, iPod touch and iPad via the Remote app.

The Apple TV streaming box is powered by Apple A5 processor and also sports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Currently the Apple TV is located only on Rediff Shopping where it is priced for Rs. 7,999. The device will also be available in stores in next 7 to 10 days.
