LG launches 84-inch Ultra HD TV in UK for £22,500

LG’s 84-inch Ultra HD TV has finally arrived to UK. The new Ultra HD TV sports 3840×2160 resolution that is four times that of standard HD TVs.Together with LG’s Triple XD Engine Dynamic Colour Enhancer and Resolution Upscaler, which enhances lower resolution content as well as the increasingly common TruMotion 240Hz technology.

“Picture quality has always been LG’s foremost priority, one that’s especially important now as manufacturers scale TVs to meet the trend line pointing toward larger and larger class sizes,”-”We were instrumental in developing the HD standard and, similarly, our goal now is to pioneer Ultra High Def technology to create the crisp and immersive viewing experience consumers are currently missing with large-screen TVs.”

The bad news here is, in the US the HD TV is priced for $22,500, but for UK consumers the exchange rate from US dollars to Pound Sterling has not done them any favours and the HD TV is priced for £22,500 here. In case you were wondering, that translates to just over $36,000.

There are also five pairs of 3D glasses bundled in with the TV, and we’d hope so too, for that price.
