LG Optimus G debuts in South Korea: 4.7-inch Display, 13MP camera, Quad Core Krait Processor

LG at special event in South Korea has unveiled its most anticipated smartphone, Optimus G. The smartphone is soon going to launch in Korea for 1 million won ($900) and in October it’s expected to fly globally.

“The Optimus G is a groundbreaking premium device not only in the history of LG but also in the smartphone industry,” comments Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the Optimus G, users will be able to experience unsurpassed UX features that will allow them to perform tasks that really enhance their daily lives.”

The Optimus G runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and features 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display (1280×768 resolution), 1.5GHz quad-core Krait processor, Snapdragon S4 Pro Chipset, 2GB of RAM, NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with DLNA.

There’s 13MP camera at the back with LED flash and capable of shooting 1080p video. Also the phone os powered by 2100 mAh battery rated for 15h of talktime and 35 hours of standby.

LG added QSlide function to Optimus G which allows you to overlay two screens with different apps running, also you can set opacity level of the screens.

The handset will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean by the end of this year.
